Match their experience to your specific roof or exterior
A long resume does not help you if most of that work looks nothing like your project. Ask each roofer what kinds of roofs and exteriors they work on most often and how many recent jobs resemble yours. For a homeowner, that might mean asphalt shingles on a similar‑sized house, an aging roof that may need replacement, or repairs after a storm. For a business, it could mean flat or metal roof systems on commercial buildings. Request photos or short descriptions of a few recent projects that resemble your situation, and ask what problems those clients were facing, what was done, and how it turned out. The more directly their examples line up with your needs, the more confident you can be that they have seen and solved similar issues before.
